Guides

Short guides to getting datasheet-backed answers from your AI: connecting PartsPlan, asking so the answer cites the page, checking a BOM, reading graph-only values, and a worked example.

Frequently asked questions

What is PartsPlan?

A datasheet tool (an MCP server) you connect to AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT. Once connected, the AI finds the page, table or graph it needs in the manufacturer's datasheet and can answer with the document and page number.

Which AI apps can I connect?

Claude (web, desktop app and Claude Code), ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, OpenAI Codex, Gemini CLI and more. The steps for each app are in the setup guide.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The free plan gives you 300 calls a month (up to 100 a day), and no card is required. For more, see the pricing page.

Where does the evidence come from?

From the manufacturer's original datasheets. Along with each value, the AI gets the document and page number, so you can check the answer against the original right away.

What if the datasheet I need isn't there?

Ask your AI to request it, or leave the part number on the datasheet request page. Once it has been collected, your AI can find it.

Does it tell me whether my circuit is correct?

No. PartsPlan finds the evidence in the original datasheet. You and your AI judge the circuit from that evidence.

Does it show stock or prices?

No. It does not cover stock, prices or lead times.
