Give your AI the EasyEDA Pro BOM as exported
Updated 2026-10-11
In a BOM exported from EasyEDA Pro, the manufacturer column holds labels that pair the name with Chinese, such as "MDD(辰达半导体)" or "SAMSUNG(三星)". You don't need to rewrite them as English company names. In the 14 lines we tested, that manufacturer's document was found for every line.
What we tried
We exported the 14-line BOM of a test circuit (a USB data logger) from EasyEDA Pro and ran it once through PartsPlan's BOM check, without changing a single character in the manufacturer or part number columns. For all 14 lines, a document from the manufacturer named in that line was found (October 2026, one run).
For example, SAMSUNG(三星) in the manufacturer column led to Samsung Electro-Mechanics documents, MDD(辰达半导体) to MDD, and ST(意法半导体) to STMicroelectronics.
"Found" here means that manufacturer's document was found. It does not mean every value was checked; that happens in the next step, when the AI reads the pages of that document.
Step by step
- In EasyEDA Pro, choose Bill of Materials (BOM) from the Export menu (or File → Export). The Export BOM window opens.
- Leave the columns at their defaults, choose CSV as the file type (to attach XLSX in Claude, code execution and file creation must be on), and click the Export BOM button.
- Attach the file to a Claude or ChatGPT chat and ask as below.
For every line of the attached EasyEDA BOM, find that manufacturer's datasheet using the manufacturer label exactly as written.
List the document found for each line (manufacturer and title) in a table, and mark any line where none was found.
Then check each line against the design conditions, with the page as evidence.Things to watch
- Don't delete the manufacturer column. For parts such as 1N4148WS or SS34 that several makers produce under the same part number, that column decides which document applies.
- If the manufacturer column is empty, another maker's document can slip in. Fill it in before exporting when you can.
- Don't shorten the manufacturer label (for example to "SAMSUNG") or translate it, and keep the other columns at their defaults. A shortened label may only bring up another maker's documents.
- Sometimes the document found is a family catalog covering many part numbers. If you need the spec sheet for the exact part number, ask the AI to look for that one separately.
